New Look Blouse, Mabel Skirt in Blue/white Polkadot

I've been working on getting this blouse right for a LOOOOOONG time and I finally GOT IT!!!!!!!
I LOVE the lace detail on the neckline and sleeve line. I used a soft white crochet lace that a friend gave me maybe 20 years ago when I told her I wanted to learn to sew!
Sometimes it takes a LONG time to get life right! The pattern is from New Look BIN 40 #6945
Another Mabel pencil skirt from Colette Patterns https://www.colettepatterns.com/sewing/mabel
I find that working from indie patterns I don't need to make many big changes. Maybe an eighth of and inch here or there. The Mabel is simple - the only changes I made were to take out the kick pleat and add a flounce. However, when it comes to standard patterns like the big five or ones like New Look the changes are HUGE and MANY!
I added 3 inches to the length in the torso, 2 inches to the sides and front darts giving it more flair at the hip, took out 2 inches in upper back, and did my normal adjustment of taking out an inch under the armpit so the armhole is not choking my arm. This last adjustment I have to do ALL the time.
I LOVE that this blouse is lined. I used a burn-out white cotton that has a hint of blue in the flower print and lined it with a baby blue soft cotton that enhanced the light blue of the flowers.

I LOVE the darts on this Blouse! I did have to take in a little more in the center back dart. The way they are tapered on both ends works well for my deep sway back. The front darts are also tapered which I like because it gives a better fit in my bust and upper torso.
I LOVE my sewing machine!!!!!!!! It does the most amazing decorative stitches!!!!!!!!! THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH EXCLAMATIONS AND CAPITAL LETTERS TO LET YOU KNOW HOW DEEPLY I LOVE MY SEWING MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cada Pajaro a su columpio! To each little bird her own swing!
What is being transfigured here is your mind,
And it is difficult and slow to become new.
The more faithfully you can endure here,
The more refined your heart will become
For your arrival in the new dawn.
