YAY!!!!!! A wood block hand printed Wren dress.
I used the Wren Dress pattern from Colette Patterns. https://www.colettepatterns.com/catalog/wren
I added a lot of fabric to the front panels because I like my dresses to drape off of my belly rather than hug my belly. I do this by adding a upside-down v shape in my pattern to the middle section of the front panel and adding to the center front panels on the inside seam.
What I am very excited about is the wood block prints! Colette gave a tutorial on her blog about this last summer and I am finally getting around to doing it. Here is Colette's inspiration:https://blog.colettehq.com/inspiration/creating-a-block-print-lily-5-tips-tricks
I got the wood block prints from :https://www.etsy.com/shop/charancreations?ref=l2-shopheader-name And from: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TATAindianwoodstamps?ref=l2-shopheader-name
The paint is from Darma Trading co. http://www.dharmatrading.com/paints/jacquard-textile-colors.html I also got linoleum wood blocks to carve my own designs! http://www.dharmatrading.com/tools/mounted-linoleum-blocks.html
I am so excited about continuing to explore this option of art and design!
The only concern I have is how long will the paint really hold up in the wash? I will be testing that out. So far I have washed this 3 times in cold water and all is well.
The possibilities are ENDLESS!!!!!!
